magic

Oh ho ho, it’s Magic, you know. Never believe it’s not so!

*ahem*

We hope you’ll forgive us that little blast from the past (and that you’ll also forgive us for getting that Pilot song stuck in your head as well as ours), but we’ve seldom come across a pet with such an apt name! Magic is Griffin Pond Animal Shelter’s Pet of the Week for the July 17 edition.

We’ve got a soft spot for black & white cats, and, interestingly, so did Victorian society: black & white cats were considered especially lucky. And cats with this kind of coloring are sometimes referred to as Jellicle Cats in a nod to a poem by T.S. Eliot.

You can find Magic’s write-up on page 70 of the July 17th issue and also on findnflip.com. And you can find Magic herself (as well as other wonderful animals ready for adoption ) at Griffin Pond Animal Shelter.
