West Scranton High School “Angel on the Tree”

The Student Council of West Scranton High School organized its annual “Angel on the Tree” collection to benefit fellow children of the Scranton School District.  Students and faculty at West Scranton purchased various toys, clothes, and gift items for approximately 50 children at Charles Sumner Elementary School who were “adopted” through the program.  Additionally, Sumner’s principal Mr. Rob DeLuca also spearheaded a collection for more than 15 extra gifts, which meant that over 65 young students will be receiving gifts for Christmas through the combined efforts of the staff, student bodies, and families of both West Scranton High School and Charles Sumner Elementary.

Each year, the “Angel on the Tree” event is organized by the West Scranton High School student council.  The faculty advisor for the student council is Mr. Richard Bresser.
