Pictured are 28 business students/FBLA members from Western Wayne High School who recently participated in the annual D. Carl Peet Mock Interview Day sponsored by the Wayne County School-to-Work Committee. Approximately twenty local businesspersons and educators volunteered their time to interview high school students from Forest City, Wallenpaupack Area, Honesdale, and Western Wayne school districts.
Each student brought a resume detailing his/her skills and qualifications. Then, each student engaged in three different interviews. Following each interview, the students received valuable feedback. This feedback may have been about their resume, their dress, or the interview itself.
Participating in this day provided the students with valuable skills to prepare for entry into the work world. Mock interviews help reduce stress and anxiety while increasing one’s self-confidence related to interviewing.
