Forget “You are what you eat.” You are how you eat. Dining with good manners is an important way to make a great lasting impression on a prospective employer or coworker. Recently, seven students from Western Wayne High School had the opportunity to learn this firsthand by participating in a “Manners Matter” experience.
Sponsored by Lackawanna College Lake Region and the Wayne School-to-Work Committee, students from Forest City, Wallenpaupack Area, Honesdale, and Western Wayne heard an informative presentation on soft business skills including job interviewing and dressing for success by Jamie Padula and Ryan French, Wayne Bank.
This was followed by a presentation of the rules of proper dining etiquette by Justin Genzlinger, CEO of Settler’s Hospitality Group and a delicious luncheon provided by the Lords Valley Country Club.
Attending the presentation from Western Wayne were MiKayla Bronson, Gabby Lawler, Kylie Emerson, Josh Stevens, Jared Cummings, Becky Shepherd, and Xavier D’Agostino. Accompanying the students was Ms. Theresa Lubash, business teacher and FBLA Adviser.
