West Scranton Students Attend Marywood University Senior Wind Band Celebration
Five West Scranton students were selected to attend the Marywood University Senior Wind Band Celebration, a program offered by the university to support the performing arts in schools. The two-day event is sponsored by the Marywood University Department of Music, Theatre, and Dance, under Dr. F. David Romines. It provides selected students in grades 10-12 with the opportunity to work with and perform under the direction of guest directors and musicians, who are considered some of the best in their field. This year’s nationally recognized directors were Professor Mark Scatterday, Dr. Rick Good, and Dr. Schallert.
Students from West Scranton who were selected to attend were Catherine Riley, Albert Gonzalez, Geoffrey O’Connor, Miguel Mateo, and Patrick O’Malley. The concert took place at Marywood University on January 31, 2015.
