West Scranton Music Department Raises Funds with Fashion Show

The music department of West Scranton High School presented a check for $540.00 to Mrs. Rose McGlynn who is a member of the Cindy Collins Kearney Memorial Breakfast Committee. The committee works each year to raise funds to spread awareness for Ovarian Cancer and support Ovarian Cancer research. Cindy was not only an alumna of West, but she was also an elementary teacher in the Scranton School District.

The proceeds were raised by members of the West Scranton marching band, orchestra, and choir as they presented “Fashion of a Cause”, a fashion show that featured students from the music department providing music and modeling clothes.  The affair was truly a West Scranton community event, featuring West Scranton businesses such as Studio RD, and clothing from Modish, a local boutique owned and operated by West alum Maria Sacco.
