West Scranton High School Marching Band Receives Donation from Froggy 101
The West Scranton High School Marching Band, under the direction of Corey Bartell, received a grant from Froggy 101 which will be used for instrument repairs. The grant was awarded through an online email contest sponsored by the radio station. West Scranton received the 2nd highest number of votes. The money was awarded at Froggy 101’s “Guitars and Stars” benefit concert, which supports local high school arts programs. The WSHS band officers were in attendance at the event on October 17.
Altogether, the West Scranton band program will receive a total of $1,000 dollars — $500 is from Froggy 101, and an additional $500 from the artists at the benefit who matched the radio station’s donation.
