Students from West Scranton High School took third place in the 4th annual Wilkes University IEEE Engineering Olympics. The team competed against eight other high schools in five events that challenged the students to use their knowledge, innovation and creativity.  Students had to solve engineering problems and construct a water turbine to produce electricity, a tower to withstand wind forces, a parachute to descend slowly, a high speed gravity car, and a common emitter amplifier to produce a large voltage gain.
