West Scranton Students Score High

in the National Spanish Exam

 

Congratulations to several world language students from West Scranton High School who attained national recognition for excellent performance on the 2014 National Spanish Examinations.

 

Students from West Scranton earned a total of 2 gold, 6 silver, and 9 bronze medals, along with 28 medals of honorable performance.  “Attaining a medal for any student on the National Spanish Exams is very prestigious,” said Kevin Cessna-Buscemi, National Director of the Exams, “because the exams are the largest of their kind in the United States with over 154,000 students participating in 2014.”

 

The National Spanish Examinations are administered each year in grades 6 through 12, and are sponsored by the American Association of Teachers of Spanish and Portuguese.
