West Scranton Brothers Complete 2nd Annual Scranton Half Marathon

On Sunday April 12, West Scranton High School students Michael and Colin Kelly completed the 2nd annual Scranton Half Marathon.  Both brothers managed to complete the 13.1-mile course in under two hours.

Colin, a sophomore at West, is a member of the school’s cross country, basketball, and track teams.  This past year, he qualified to compete at the All-State level for cross country.  Sunday marked his second half marathon, and he finished the race in 66th place overall, earning an award for 2nd place in his age category.

Michael is a freshman at West and is a member of West Scranton’s cross country and track teams.  In a field of nearly 2,500 runners, he also finished very strongly – completing the course among the overall top 25%.  Sunday’s race was his first half marathon.
