Every year Mrs. Zeiss’s students adopt families from the Catherine McAuley Center. The Catherine McAuley Center is a support system, a lifeline, and a bridge to self-reliance for homeless women and families in Lackawanna county.Families make a wish-list of some things they would like and then my students and I provide them with these gifts. This year Rachel’s Challenge Club Members and the Lion’s Club helped raise more than $300 to help with the families needs. Additionally, many contributed gifts and other necessities. It is a humbling experience for our students and with the help of amazing people is a success every year.
