Valley View High School Senior Mitchell Kanavy, was awarded an appointment for a two-year military academy in Wayne.  Valley Forge partners with Senator John Blake and other Pennsylvania lawmakers to award this appointment.  The scholarships are awarded based on academic performance in high school.  Mitchell will have the opportunity to become a second lieutenant in the United States Army after two years of college while completing a bachelor’s degree at   competitive four year college of his choice. The Valley Forge Military Academy & College educates students in an academic and military environment to prepare them for a four-year college or university.  The accredited 78-year-old institution enrolls more than 300 cadets each year. Mitchell was presented with this award on Friday, May 2, 2014 at Valley View High School by Senator John Blake.
