Valley View High School Veteran’s Day Celebration
On Monday, November 9, 2015 Valley View High School celebrated Veteran’s Day. Valley View invited local veterans to come and join in the events of the day. This year’s theme,” VVHS Home of the Free because of the BRAVE.” was designed by the Valley View High School History Club under the direction of Mrs. Nicole Zeiss. The Club sold the shirts to faculty, staff and students and all proceed were given to the three local VFW Posts. Events of the day included a special choral and band presentation of patriotic songs performed by the Valley View High School Chorus directed by Ms. Gina Lupini and Band directed by Mr. Michael Lesnefsky. This year’s guest speaker was Mr. Peter Genova, Retired United States Air Force, served in the New Jersey State House, and 911 World Trade Center North Tower Survivor.
After the presentation the Veterans enjoy a lunch prepared by the Valley View High School Gourmet Foods Department under the supervision of Mr. Pete Kolankoski. During the lunch the Veterans received messages of gratitude for their service from the Valley View High School students along with special pens donated by the Valley View High School Industrial Arts program under the direction of Mr. Brandon Dodson.
