The play, Guarding the Bridge, written by theatre program director Chuck Gorden, will have two performances in New York City this month.

Winner of the John Cauble Short Play Award, the play deals with the legacy of racism in white America, and will be performed on Wednesday, July 18 (International Nelson Mandela Day), and Monday, July 30 (International Friendship Day), at the Triad Theatre in New York City. Tickets are $18.50.

The play is being produced by Ripple Effect Artists, a 501 (c)(3) Actors Equity Association company that focuses on issues of social justice and change. Mr. Gorden will be in attendance at both performances, participating in talk-back sessions with the audience. Curtain time is at 7 p.m., both evenings.
