Students in grades five through eight at Good Shepherd Academy in Kingston recently participated in the Scripps Spelling Bee.  Each homeroom held its own Spelling Bee, and the two finalists from each room participated in the School Spelling Bee.  The winner of the school competition was Sean Boland, seventh grade, of Dallas.  The runner-up was Alexa Ullrich, sixth grade, of Kingston.  Sean will advance to The Scripps Local Spelling Bee, which will be held at The Woodlands Inn on March 29.  The winner qualifies for participation in the Scripps National Spelling Bee in Washington, D.C. in May.
