Twenty-five members of the Western Wayne chapter of the Future Business Leaders of America were among the more than 1,500 members and advisers who traveled to the Kalahari Resorts Pocono for the annual State Leadership Workshop.

This workshop marked the kickoff of the state project benefiting the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.  A theme basket auction, as well as a charity walk, was held.  More than $15,000 was raised toward the goal of $62,000.

Students were able to choose from a variety of leadership workshops to attend including workshops on owning your own business, communications, preparing for college, having a winning, competitive chapter, and membership recruitment.

During the Sunday evening session, a Battle of the Chapters was held focusing upon questions dealing with FBLA history, competitive events, and policies as well as current events.  The team of Austin Boguski, Ezra Tetreault and Sydney Peet emerged victorious with a victory over Tunkhannock High School.

Ezra Tetreault, PA FBLA’s Vice President at Large from Western Wayne, was one of the nine state officers responsible for coordinating the workshop.
