Special Recognition Awards Presented to Two Members of the Blue Devil Pride
At the recent concert, two senior members of the Shenandoah Valley Blue Devil Pride were presented with special awards for their outstanding dedication, commitment, & participation to the marching & concert bands.
The National School Marching Band Award was presented to Alex Miscannon for his outstanding contributions to the band both on and off the field. It honors his musical contributions & dedication as a student leader and role model for the younger students to emulate. Alex is the son of Albert & Erica Miscannon.
The second award is the most prestigious award given by any high school band. The John Phillip Sousa Award was presented to James Davidson in recognition of his outstanding achievement and interest in instructional music, for singular merit in loyalty and cooperation, and for displaying the high quality of conduct instrumental music requires. His musical resume includes several participations in both junior high & high school county & district bands. Jim is the son of James & Tara Davidson.
