Seventeen students from Western Wayne High School captured awards at the State Leadership Conference of the Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) recently held in Hershey.  Competition was held in more than 70 business and business-related individual, team, and chapter events.

The following students were recognized on stage during the Awards of Excellence program:  Dakota Sopko, first place, Accounting I; Jack Tuman, first place, Accounting II; Allison Mattern, first place, Intro to Parliamentary Procedure; Abby Black, first place, and Angelia Reggie, third place, FBLA Principles & Procedures; Ezra Tetreault, second place, Public Speaking I; the team of Morgan Amorine, Jacob Karnick, Alexandra Buckman, Chayni Carroll, and Hannah Roedel, third place, Parliamentary Procedure; the team of Samantha Atcavage, Evan Coons, and Jillian Dudley, fifth place, Intro to Business Presentation; the team of Tylea Alpaugh and Laurel Frable, fifth place, Digital Video Production; and Noelle Orehek, eighth place, Intro to Parliamentary Procedure.

In addition, the chapter placed tenth in the William Selden Outstanding Chapter event and Jacob Karnick placed sixth in the Who’s Who in PA FBLA event.

Eleven students have now qualified for further competition at the National Leadership Conference to be held in late June in Anaheim, California.
