Rocco Roguskie, who is only a sophomore at Shenandoah Valley High School, has achieved a level of success in the field of music that has been unequalled in the school’s history. His musical career began in 6th grade when elementary band director Emily Volek encouraged him to play the French horn. He then went on to become a member of the high school band and under the tutelage of musical director Walter Choplick, Roguskie progressed and became more and more proficient. So far this year his musical resume consists of participation in District Band, District Orchestra, the Lebanon Valley College High School Honors Band, Schuylkill County Chorus, Senior County Band, the Region V Band Festival, and just this weekend he was informed that he was selected to perform with Northeast Region Orchestra for their festival concert to be held at the Scranton Cultural Center the weekend of March 11-13. The Orchestra is composed of the most talented musicians from the 12 counties in Northeastern Pennsylvania, the Lehigh Valley and the Pocono Region. Rocco is the son of Scott and Angela Roguskie from Shenandoah Heights.
