Riverside Jr. – Sr. High School art students have won awards in the 2016 Northeastern Pennsylvania Scholastic Art Awards.  Caitlin Kilvitis an 8th grade student received an Honorable Mention for her sculpture “Prince Tyreese”.   Mickayla Jones also an 8th grade student received a Silver Key Award for her sculpture “Scared Silly”.

Senior Kacey Orlowski captured an Honorable Mention for her wheel-turned and Raku fired bowl entitled “Rozelle”.   Kacey also won a Silver Key Award for her wheel-turned and intricately patterned bowl entitled “Tribal Teal”.

Senior Christian Grande hit a home run and captured three Scholastic Art Awards.  Christian received two Honorable Mentions for his wheel-turned and Raku Fired bowls entitled “Storm” and “Lost Treasure”.  Christian also received a Gold Key Award for a Raku-Fired sculpture entitled “Winter’s Coming”. All Gold and Silver Key works will be displayed in Marywood University’s Mahady Gallery and sent to New York City for consideration for National Awards in the traveling national exhibition.Congratulations to all Riverside award winners and entrants in the 2016 Northeastern Pennsylvania Scholastic Art Awards!
