John Lemoncelli, Ed.D., Professor Emeritus at Marywood University
John Lemoncelli, Ed.D., professor emeritus at Marywood University, was recently awarded the 2015 Ethics Educators Award from the Pennsylvania Psychological Association at a ceremony in Harrisburg.
The Ethics Educators Award is given yearly to a psychologist in Pennsylvania who has made notable accomplishments in advancing ethics education among psychologists.
Dr. Lemoncelli, who retired from Marywood University as a professor of psychology, taught ethics in the counseling and psychology department. He has a long history of students who went on to have productive careers in mental health counseling and psychology.
Dr. Lemoncelli served for four years as chair of the Ethics Committee of the Pennsylvania Psychological Association. He wrote articles in professional journals on ethical issues and conducted continuing education workshops on ethics for psychologist and other mental health professionals. Dr. Lemoncelli is especially known for his work with survivors of childhood abuse and for the integration of religion, ethics, and psychology.
At the awards presentation, Rachael Baturin, professional affairs associate for the Pennsylvania Psychological Association, noted about Dr. Lemoncelli, “Everything he does is in a conscientious and agreeable manner. He has somewhat of a modified Midas touch in that everything he touches turns to ethics.”
