On March 21st, C.A.S.U.A.L. Day, the Mid Valley School District participated in a very special local event called C.A.S.U.A.L. (Colon cancer Awareness Saves Unlimited Adult Lives) Day. This awareness event, sponsored by the Northeast Regional Cancer Institute, aims to decrease our region’s high rate of colorectal cancer (as high as 23% above the U.S. average in some areas). The important thing to know about this form of cancer is that, by following proper screening guidelines, it is often preventable! The goal of C.A.S.U.A.L. Day is to promote this message of prevention, and encourage casual conversation about the disease.
All proceeds from the sales will benefit our region directly through Cancer Institute colorectal cancer education and screening initiatives.
