Marywood University’s School of Social Work to Host Spring Colloquium and Social Work Celebration

 

SCRANTON, PA (April 13, 2015)—Marywood University’s School of Social Work will host its spring colloquium “Culturally Responsive Social Work Practice,” on Tuesday, April 28, 2015, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m., in the Latour Conference Room, Nazareth Student Center.

 

Robert Ortega, LMSW, Ph.D., will present, “Culture, Caring, and the Inclusive Workplace,” and Phyllis Black, Ph.D., LSW, will present, “Promoting Ethical Social Work Competence in a Diverse Environment.”

 

This program is approved for five continuing education credit (CEUs) hours for social workers, applicable toward Pennsylvania and New Jersey LSW (licensed social worker) licensure requirements, and will meet the ethical requirements for two hours of ethics towards license requirements.

 

Marywood University’s School of Social Work will celebrate its 45th anniversary as part of the spring colloquium with celebration and networking from 3-5 p.m.  Sr. Anne Munley, IHM, Ph.D., president of Marywood University will recognize and award distinguished graduates at the celebration.
