Marywood University’s Music, Theatre, and Dance Department to Host Spring Symphony Orchestra Program
SCRANTON, PA (April 20, 2017—Marywood University’s music, theatre, and dance department will host its spring 2017 symphony orchestra program on Saturday, April 22, 2017, at 7:30 p.m., on the Main Stage of the Sette LaVerghetta Center for Performing Arts. The performance is free and open to the public.
The concert will feature Haydn’s Symphony No. 104 as well as music by Elgar. The concert will also feature soloist, Catherine Huhn, winner of the 2016-2017 Concerto Competition, who will be playing Doppler’s Hungarian Rhapsody for lute and orchestra. Also joining the orchestra will be singers from the University’s music department who will be performing select operatic scenes.
