Marywood University’s Music, Theatre, and Dance Department to Host a Concert by the Singing Sergeants
SCRANTON, PA (February 1, 2018)—Marywood University’s music, theatre, and dance department will host the Singing Sergeants for a free concert on Thursday, February 22, 2018, at 8 p.m., in the Marian Chapel at the Swartz Center for Spiritual Life on the University’s campus. In addition to the free concert, the public is welcome to attend a master class on Thursday, February 22, 2018, at 3 p.m., in the Marian Chapel. The Singing Sergeants will be working with Marywood University Chamber Singers for the master class. The Chamber Singers, the University’s top-touring ensemble, are a select group of between 20 and 24 members.
The Singing Sergeants is the official chorus of the United States Air Force. Stationed at Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling in Washington, D.C., the group is one of six musical ensembles that comprise The U.S. Air Force Band. Featuring 23 active duty Airmen musicians, the Singing Sergeants presents more than 200 performances annually with a wide range of musical styles, from traditional Americana, opera, and choral standards to modern Broadway and jazz. The Singing Sergeants 2018 annual tour is traveling through Pennsylvania and Delaware.
