Marywood University’s Music, Theatre, and Dance Department Announces Fall Performances

 

SCRANTON, PA (September 27, 2017)—Marywood University’s music, theatre, and dance department will offer free performances on campus during the months of October and November.

 

  • On Sunday, October 22, 2017, at 4 p.m., Marywood University will hold its faculty recital in the Marian Chapel, in the Swartz Center for Spiritual Life, on the University’s campus. This is a special opportunity to hear members of the music, theatre, and dance department perform a variety of works from the classical repertoire.

 

  • The Northeastern Youth Wind Ensemble will perform its fall concert on Sunday, October 29, 2017, at 4 p.m., in the Sette LaVerghetta Center for Performing Arts. Sponsored by Marywood University, Conn-Selmer, Inc., and American Youth Ensembles, the Northeastern Youth Wind Ensemble will present a free concert. Many of Pennsylvania’s top high school musicians will perform engaging works for concert band under the direction of Marywood University’s director of bands, F. David Romines, D.M.A.

 

  • Marywood University’s Wind Ensemble and Wind Symphony will perform a free fall concert on Sunday, November 12, 2017, at 4 p.m., in the Sette LaVerghetta Center for Performing Arts, on the main stage. The band program at Marywood presents their two major ensembles performing works from the classic band repertoire and works by proven contemporary composers. A special tribute is planned for recently deceased American composer, David Maslanka.
