Marywood University to Host Third Lecture on Pope Francis’s Encyclical Letter

SCRANTON, PA (April 1, 2016)-Marywood University’s campus ministry office, the science department, and the theology department will host the third lecture in the series on Pope Francis’s Encyclical Letter, Laudato Si (Praised Be You): A Conversation on the Care of “Our Common Home,” on Wednesday, April 20, 2016, at 7:30 p.m., in the McGowan Room, in the Swartz Center for Spiritual Life. During the third lecture, Care for the Earth, a panel will discuss issues including: greenhouse gas emissions, global warming, and pollution. This event is free and open to the public.

 

Pope Francis said in his Encyclical Letter, “Together with our obligation to use the earth’s goods responsibly, we are called to recognize that other living beings have a value of their own in God’s eyes.”
