Marywood University to Host Lecture Series on Pope Francis’s Encyclical Letter

 

SCRANTON, PA (January 20, 2016)-Marywood University’s department of campus ministry, the science department, and the theology department will sponsor a lecture series on Pope Francis’s Encyclical Letter, Laudato Si (Praised Be You): A Conversation on the Care of “Our Common Home.”  The Inaugural lecture will be given by Rabbi Daniel Swartz of Temple Hesed on Wednesday, February 3, 2016, at 6 p.m., at the Swartz Center for Spiritual Life, Room A. This event is free and open to the public.

 

Pope Francis said in his Encyclical Letter, “I urgently appeal, then, for a new dialogue about how we are shaping the future of our planet. We need a conversation which includes everyone, since the environmental challenge we are undergoing, and its human roots, concern and affect us all.”
