Marywood University to host Entrepreneurial Lecture by George Castineiras
SCRANTON, PA (October 9, 2015)—Marywood University’s School of Business and Global Innovation will host a lecture by George Castineiras, managing director of Gibraltar Ventures, as part of its Entrepreneurial Lecture Series. The lecture will take place on Wednesday, October 21, 2015, at 5:30 p.m., in the Entrepreneur Launch Pad, on the third floor of the Learning Commons, on the university’s campus. This event is free and open to the public.
As managing director of Gibraltar Ventures, Mr. Castineiras is responsible for exploring, developing, and investing in transformational ideas and business strategies to empower the ambitions of people, institutions, and communities.
Prior to leading Gibraltar Ventures, he headed Total Retirement Solutions at Prudential, where he oversaw sales, service, operations, and product development for Prudential’s defined contribution, as well as its defined benefit and nonqualified executive benefit solutions. He joined Prudential in 2002 as head of western region sales and was soon named senior vice president of national corporate sales. Later, he became senior vice president of client relations and business development for Prudential Retirement’s distribution and key account relationship management teams.
Early in his career, Mr. Castineiras held sales leadership positions with Metropolitan Life Insurance Company and The Principal Financial Group. He is also the Founder and CEO of Castineiras Ventures, LLC. Mr. Castineiras has three patents and an additional ten patents pending, along with sixteen trademarks.
Mr. Castineiras earned his master’s degree in business administration from MIT Sloan School of Management, and he earned dual bachelor degrees in finance and economics from Loyola Marymount University. He has completed executive programs at Harvard University, the University of Michigan, the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, New York University, and the Life Insurance and Marketing Research Organization.
