Marywood University to Host “Better Together Day” as Memorial to Kurdish Genocide

 

Scranton, PA (April 10, 2015)—Marywood University will host an on-campus event to raise awareness in the community about the Kurdish population in Northern Iraq.  The “Better Together” event will be held on Tuesday, April 14, 2015, from 6-7 p.m., followed by a Kurdish student presentation at 7 p.m., in the Upper Main Dining Room, Nazareth Student Center. This event is free and open to the public.

 

As part of the memorial and remembrance of the Kurdish Genocide that took place in the 1980s and 90s, the Marywood University Kurdish students will present an evening information and insight related to the current situation in their country.

 

“Better Together Day” is a national movement, inviting everyone who believes in interfaith cooperation to take steps towards a future where different beliefs and traditions are a bridge to positive change.
