Marywood University’s Student Activities and Leadership Development office will hold its third annual CONQUER Student Leadership Conference on Sunday, November 10, 2019, from 12 – 6 p.m. The cost of the conference is free for Marywood students, and $20 for non-Marywood students. Registration includes conference materials, a t-shirt, and lunch. Check in begins at 11:30 a.m., in the Nazareth Student Center’s Fireplace Lounge.
New to the program this year is a Resume Drop Off. All attendees are eligible to drop off their resume during conference check-in to have it reviewed by Marywood University’s Career Development Center. Resumes will be ready to be picked up at the conclusion of the conference with notes, edits, and suggestions.
The Keynote speaker at the CONQUER Student Leadership Conference at Marywood University is Saul Flores, who at the age of 18, embarked on the “Walk of the Immigrants,” a 5,238-mile walk across Latin American. He began his journey to raise awareness for immigration while fundraising for an elementary school in his mother’s hometown in Mexico. Through talks to campuses, organizations, and chapters, Mr. Flores helps students realize their immense creative potential and capacity to have an impact on their communities.
In addition to Marywood University, five other area colleges and universities will participate in this year’s CONQUER Student Leadership Conference including Johnson College, The University of Scranton, Penn State Wilkes-Barre, Misericordia, and East Stroudsburg University.
