Dr. Francis DeMatteo

 

 

Francis DeMatteo, Ph.D., associate professor and coordinator of the School Psychology program at Marywood University, was recently notified that he would receive Indiana University of Pennsylvania’s (IUP) Alumni Scholar Award, on November 13, 2014, at the annual awards banquet at IUP.

 

Prior to his current position as an associate professor and coordinator of Marywood University’s Psychology program, Dr. DeMatteo worked as a school psychologist in the K through 12 public school setting and was director of student services for Tuscarora School District. He also served as a full-time temporary assistant professor in the Education and School Psychology Department at Indiana University of Pennsylvania.

 

Dr. DeMatteo earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Scranton and his master’s, educational specialist, and doctoral degrees in school psychology from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. He has been a nationally certified school psychologist since 1999.

 

Dr. DeMatteo’s current research project involve investigating co-teaching as a medium of teacher candidate supervision and comparing cooperative teacher and university supervisor ratings of teacher candidates.
