Marywood University Board of Trustees Announces The Munley College of Liberal Arts and Sciences The Marywood University Board of Trustees announced on October 18 that it affirmed the naming of The College of Liberal Arts and Sciences in honor of Sister Anne Munley, IHM, Ph.D. The Munley College of Liberal Arts and Sciences is one of four Colleges within Marywood University. Marywood’s eleventh president, Sister Anne Munley has been leading the University since 2007. In a statement about the naming of the Munley College, Ann Henry, Ph.D., Chair of the Board of Trustees said, “The Trustees approved this honor in recognition of Sr. Anne’s service to Marywood not only as President but also as a past administrator and faculty member at Marywood, her fifty years of service as an IHM Sister, and in recognition of her service work throughout the world”. Commenting on the announcement, Sister Anne said, “I believe the naming reaffirms the connection to our University’s roots in the educational tradition of the IHM Sisters. Although I am both humbled and honored by this recognition, for me it is truly a celebration of the IHM legacy.” In her announcement, Dr. Henry stated, “Sister Anne has transformed the lives of people around the world. I continue to be inspired by her vision, her intelligence, her commitment, and her compassion. This honor recognizes her commitment as an IHM Sister, her leadership and the global impact she has made and continues to make, through education, empowerment, spirituality, and service. We are proud to have her guide Marywood into its second century.” The Board of Trustees approved the naming of The Insalaco College of Creative Arts and Management in 2006 and The Reap College of Education and Human Development in 2007. The Munley College of Liberal Arts and Sciences becomes the third named college at Marywood University.
