Marywood University Students Take Part in Habitat for Humanity Service Trip
SCRANTON, PA—Marywood University students recently participated in a Habitat for Humanity project in Cape Charles, Va. Kevin Wyllie, assistant professor and graduate director for the Interior Architecture program at Marywood University, led the team of ten Marywood University undergraduate students for the week-long service trip.
Together, the team met with the clients, then worked on completing the siding, rafter trimming, railing systems, electrical systems, and two stairwells for the project. The project was run out of the Exmore, Virginia Habitat for Humanity chapter. Participating students are studying education, nutrition and dietetics, psychology, social work, health and physical education, and criminal justice at Marywood University. Beyond working on the home project, Professor Wyllie and students designed a bath house for a local campground, which they hope to build next summer after raising funds.
