Five members of the Western Wayne High School Future Business Leaders of America chapter recently captured a first place award in the Parliamentary Procedure event at the annual FBLA State Leadership Conference recently held in Hershey, Pennsylvania.
The students, Tim Lescinski, Kayla Bolduc, Joe Clauss, Alaina Lengner, and Matt Russo competed against teams more than 30 teams from across the state in a two-part event. Each of the students took a written objective test based upon the rules of proper parliamentary procedure. The second part of the event consisted of a 9-11 minute role play of a typical business meeting incorporating a problem given to them 20 minutes earlier.
The students will now compete for further honors at the upcoming National Leadership Conference in Chicago, Illinois, in late June. Ms. Theresa Lubash is the local chapter adviser.
