The West Scranton AP Physics Class used their knowledge of phase transformation, vacuum, and atmospheric pressure to successfully demonstrate the classic “Oil Drum Crush”.  A 55 gallon steel oil drum was imploded using only atmospheric pressure which we all take for granted in our daily lives.  Pictured from left to right: Teacher Scott Dustman and students Josh Hughes, Ryan Temsamrit, Jimmy Seguin, Mike Gilbride, Tom MacDonald, Jessi Purawic, Tyler Bonafede, Brandon Sodani, Tarshae Neal and Tyler Gatto in the pool with what is left of the 55 gallon drum.
