Jerry Histed was the Head Boys’ Soccer Coach at Valley View for 15 years and was responsible for getting the program re-established in the fall of 1992 after a one year hiatus. Through the years Mr. Histed had a profound effect on all of the players that came through the program by focusing on more than just wins and losses. He showed what true leadership and sportsmanship was all about. In 2016 the Jerry Histed Leadership/Sportsmanship award was established and presented at the end of the season soccer banquet. This annual award was recently presented for the second time at the Valley View Soccer Banquet and the 2017 recipient is Junior Mid-Fielder and Co-Captain Aaron Harrison.
