White Russian

Nasdarovje!

Yeah, yeah. We know. Friday’s still a few hours away, but we’re getting into the spirit of this day: February 27th is National Kahlúa Day, and who are we to miss the opportunity to salute a vital ingredient to the famous White Russian cocktail?!

As odd as it may seem now, until a huge marketing push in the 1950’s , vodka wasn’t the bar staple that it is these days. In fact, when the White Russian was invented sometime in the 1930’s, vodka was thought of as more of a specialty liquor and was pretty much only associated with Russia, its country of origin – hence the name of the drink. White Russians have enjoyed a real surge in popularity over the last two decades, due largely to the film The Big Lebowski. After all, they’re tasty concoctions that are completely Dude-approved.

And when it comes to supplies for mixing that drink? We’re the best source, bar none (see what we did there?). Find bars, stools, drinkware and even bar accessories* both in print and online.

*We even have a bowling ball whiskey dispenser … to which we say: Dude!
