Today’s the anniversary of the 1453 fall of Constantinople. But was it Istanbul? Or Constantinople? (And, hey – how did Constantinople get the works? Guess that’s nobody’s business but the Turks’.)

We’re risking a pretty severe case of earworm to make a point: sometimes something that’s very familiar can have two different names. A great example is our Non-Commission ads. If you’ve advertised with us, you probably know that Non-Commission is essentially a fancy-pants was of saying Pre-Paid; since the ad does not run on a commission basis, the payment schedule works according to the number of words in the ad plus how many issues you’d like it to run. It’s pre-paid and not a commission ad, ergo the Non-Commission handle.

Now if we could just get that song out of our heads …
