Marywood University’s Department of Communication, Language, and Literature will host the one-man show of Javier Ávila titled, “The Trouble with My Name,” on Tuesday, October 22, 2019, at 7 p.m., in the Sette LaVerghetta Center for Performing Arts. This event is free and open to the public.

Javier Ávila is a beloved educator and artist, and the first Latino to be named Pennsylvania’s Professor of the Year. He is on tour with his popular one-man show, “The Trouble with My Name,” which sheds light on the American Latino experience with a blend of satire and poetry. Mr. Ávila’s tour has given 35,000 people the chance to see a one-of-a kind performance about the value of diversity. With its blend of education and entertainment, the show is a transformative experience.
