Marywood University to Hold Continuing Education Workshop
Marywood University will hold a Professional Continuing Education Workshop titled, “Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) – Bio-Psycho-Social Lifespan, Resilience, and Ethics,” on Monday, September 9, 2019, from 9 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., in the Upper Main Dining area at the Nazareth Student Center.
The workshop will examine the last 20 years following the Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACES) study, focusing on how increased knowledge of ACEs can be translated into community action to cultivate resilience in our population. To understand and counteract the impact of ACEs, multiple community aspects and ethical concerns must be considered. This program will identify and describe adverse childhood experiences (ACEs), discuss their treatment, and identify what community actions are underway to counteract the impact of ACEs. Additionally, the ethical considerations surrounding ACEs will be discussed.
Presenters include: F. Dennis Dawgert, M.D., Leighton Y. Huey, M.D., Bill Jones, and Sarah Dawgert, MSW. Attendees will earn six Continuing Education Contact/Credit Hours, including three hours of Ethics for counselors, psychologists, and social workers.
