Marywood University Announces Summer 2017 Athletic Camps and Clinics

 

SCRANTON, PA (April 5, 2017)—Marywood University coaches and teams will offer a wide variety of camps, clinics, and programs throughout the summer for various skill levels and age groups.

 

  • Pacers Aquatic Club. May 15 – July 29, 2017. For beginner and intermediate swimmers as well as those currently swimming competitively. The Aquatics Center at The Center for Athletics and Wellness on the Marywood campus.

 

  • Family Basketball. Friday, June 28, 2017, 5–10 p.m., and Saturday, June 29, 2017, 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. Campers will learn detailed skills and competition instruction by Marywood varsity coaches and current Marywood basketball players. Insalaco Arena at The Center for Athletics and Wellness on the Marywood campus. Overnight accommodations available.

 

  • Field Hockey. July 17-21; 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. For girls ages 6 to 14. Campers will go through a dynamic stretch, one game set each morning, skills workout and stations. Pacer Field (artificial turf) at Marywood University.

 

  • Boys and Girls Soccer. July 24-27; 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. Soccer camp members will improve skills and learn new techniques from college coaches and players. Pacer Field (artificial turf) at Marywood University.

 

  • Boys and Girls Lacrosse. July 24 – 26; 5:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. For beginner and intermediate boys and girls. Hosted by The Marywood Men’s and Women’s Lacrosse teams. Players should bring lacrosse equipment (including stick, goggles, mouth guard, sneakers/cleats). Goalie training will be available, and goalies are encouraged to bring their own equipment. Pacer Field (artificial turf) at Marywood University.

 

  • Boys Basketball. Session I: July 24-28; 9 a.m. – 4 p.m; Session II: July 31-August 4; 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. For boys ages 7-15. Campers will be divided into two groups (ages 7-10 and 11-15) with some flexibility based on skill set and experience. Each day, campers will go through a dynamic stretch, ball handling workout, skill development stations, lecture series and games. Following lunch there will be a lesson/skills clinic demonstrated and instructed by Marywood Men’s Basketball coaches and team members. Insalaco Arena at The Center for Athletics and Wellness on the Marywood campus.

 

  • Girls Basketball. August 7-9, 2017, from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. For girls in grades 2-12. Shooting and Offensive Skills, with a detailed shooting curriculum, focusing on form, mechanics, and range. Insalaco Arena at The Center for Athletics and Wellness on the Marywood campus.

 

  • Girls Field Hockey August 7-10, 2017, from 8 a.m. to Noon. Pre-season Camp for junior high school and high school girls. Campers will be divided into two groups (ages 13-15 and 16-19), with some flexibility based on skill set and experience. Each day campers will go through a dynamic stretch, skills and fitness workout, stations, and a daily competition. The camp will conclude each day with game sets and a fitness activity.
