West Scranton Students Score High in the National Spanish Exam

26 students at West Scranton High School earned medals and honors for outstanding performance on the 2019 National Spanish Examination. Students from West Scranton earned gold, silver, and bronze medals, along with numerous scholar medals marking honorable performance.

One student, senior Samuel Goncalves, was also recognized as a top scorer at the local level. He was honored at a special reception at Kings College.

The National Spanish Examinations are administered each year in grades 6 through 12, and are sponsored by the American Association of Teachers of Spanish and Portuguese. This year’s medalists at West Scranton are students of Mrs. Maureen Walsh.
