Find out at “A Nurse for the Day” Program at Marywood University
Scranton, PA (September 23, 2019) — Marywood University is hosting “A Nurse for the Day” program on Wednesday, October 30, 2019, from 8:30 a.m. – 1 p.m., in the Center for Natural and Health Sciences on the University’s campus. The program is free and open to anyone interested in pursuing a nursing degree.
Attendees will have the opportunity to participate in Stop the Bleed training in partnership with Geisinger and Simulation and Nursing Lab activities. A tour of Marywood University’s campus will be provided, as well as lunch, at which attendees can meet with Nursing faculty members.
“A Nurse for the Day” program offers those interested in nursing careers the opportunity to explore and find the resources available to them by speaking with faculty and current nursing students. The program gives attendees the opportunity to get a clear picture into the types of classes, course material, and work that can be encountered in nursing school.
Marywood University’s department of Nursing provides both academic and clinical coursework to prepare students to provide health care services in a variety of settings. Graduates of the undergraduate program have unlimited opportunities in hospitals and school and nursing home settings. Other areas of practice include pharmaceuticals, research, consulting, management, and administration. Bachelor of science in nursing graduates may also choose to continue their education in pursuit of a career as a nurse practitioner, nurse anesthetist, or educator.
