Marywood University Hosts Region Wide Musical Event
SCRANTON, PA—Marywood University recently held a region wide musical event with 40 students from across Pennsylvania participating in an inaugural trumpet seminar at the Sette LaVerghetta Center for Performing Arts.
Under the guidance of David Jumper, M.M., assistant professor of jazz studies at Marywood University, students were involved in master classes from leading musicians and professors in the field. The goal of the event was to nurture young musicians in their pursuit of higher musicianship. “My hopes for events like these are to bring the musical community together,” said Jumper.
Twenty-one schools were represented at the seminar from four counties. Next year’s trumpet seminar is scheduled for April 25, 2015.
